Today, there are 44 million* caregivers nationwide who provide comfort and care to a loved one. Over 1,200 individuals from 47 states have shared their caregiving story with us. Each story shows the unconditional love and commitment that these unsung heroes have toward caring for others.

Additionally, as part of our ongoing effort to recognize the Caregiver Nation, we encourage you to continue sharing what is most rewarding about being a caregiver so we can share your stories with others for support and inspiration.

Teri D., Georgia
Teri’s caregiving story began in 2000 when she relocated to Georgia to care for her father, who was diagnosed with cancer. Her father has since passed,
and she now cares for her sister with developmental disabilities and her mother with Alzheimer’s. She was nominated by her friend Cheri,
who is inspired by Teri’s commitment
to her family.

JANUARY WINNER

Norma F., Ohio
Norma has been caring for her husband with Alzheimer's for the last 8 years. She takes care of him 24/7 without any assistance –– helping him with his medications, bathing, and eating.
Norma was nominated by her daughter Kathleen, who wants to recognize
Norma for her selfless commitment to caring for her husband.

FEBRUARY WINNER

Rose C., Indiana
Rose became her sister's full time caregiver in 2014. Before her sister moved in, she had no place to go and was very sick. Since moving in with Rose, she is much happier

MARCH WINNER

Susan S., Pennsylvania

Susan is a dual caregiver. Susan took on the role of caregiver years ago, when a surgery left her husband paralyzed. Recently, she also began caring for her father-in-law who was diagnosed with cancer. To acknowledge Susan’s impressive commitment to her loved ones, her friend Joy nominated her for the TYCN contest.

APRIL WINNER

Maria D., Rhode Island

Maria has been a Caregiver since 2010, supporting and caring for her sister, Becky. Becky suffers from many chronic conditions and needs help with activities of daily living and medical appointments. Maria is happy to care for her sister and diligently fulfills her caregiving role.

Modesto R., Connecticut

Modesto takes joy in caring for his 84 year old mother. He is her only child and considers it a pleasure and blessing to be bestowed with the responsibility of taking care of his mother.  Modesto helps his mother with activities of daily and is a loving caregiver.
