Contests are open to all residents of Canada over the age of 18, with the exception of Quebec and where else prohibited or restricted by law. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. GetConnected contest winners during last 30 days are ineligible to enter. You may enter once per contest via the entry form. Duplicates are deleted.
Winners’ names will be published once the contest closes. By entering this contest, you are giving GetConnected and its affiliates permission to publish your name as the winner at their respective websites, social media outlets and marketing materials.
HOW TO ENTER:
The contest begins when it is published on facebook.com/getconnectedmedia and closes at the deadline shown on the contest page. To enter the contest, fill out the online entry form. Some contests may allow an extra chance to win by “liking” a specified Facebook page and by tweeting a link to the contest page (limit of one tweet per day). Unintelligible, incomplete, late or garbled entries will be disqualified.
WINNER SELECTION:
a. A random draw from all eligible entries received will take place on or around the deadline shown on the contest page at facebook.com/getconnectedmedia. Odds of winning are solely dependent upon the number of eligible entries received.
b. The selected entrants will be notified either via phone or email, and must respond within two business days. If GetConnected receives no reponse in that time, a new winner will be chosen.
c. Neither GetConnected nor its affiliates will be responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of selected entrants not being able to receive notification or for the selected entrants not being able to respond as prescribed above.
d. The potential winner will also be required to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by telephone. If a potential winner answers the skill-testing question incorrectly, as determined by GetConnected in its sole discretion, he/she will be disqualified and, at GetConnected’s discretion, an alternate potential winner shall be chosen from among all remaining eligible entries. The winner releases GetConnected and it’s affiliates, including their parent and affiliated companies, directors, employees, officers and agents, including without limitation their advertising and promotion agencies, from any and all liability, loss or damage incurred with respect to the awarding, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of any prize.
PRIZES:
a. Prizing is indicated on the online contest form.
b. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, substituted or redeemed for cash. GetConnected reserves the right to substitute any and all of the prizes for prizes of equal or greater value should all or part of a prize become unavailable for any reason. Expenses not mentioned herein are the responsibility of the prize winner. Prize winner is responsible for reporting and payment of all taxes (including federal, provincial and local, if any) related to the prize.
PRIVACY:
Your information is not shared with third parties. Your name will be published online on the contest page in the winner field, and on social media. Your phone number is only used to contact you to notify you that you have won. Your email is added to our mailing list for tech news and contest alerts, however you can opt out of receiving the eNews when entering a contest by clicking the opt out button.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
Neither GetConnected nor its affiliates are responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of entries in the contest. If, for any reason, the contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of GetConnected which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this contest, GetConnected reserves the right at our sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, GetConnected and/or it’s affiliates’ liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Contest, and in no event shall GetConnected and/or it’s affiliates’ be liable for attorney’s fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
ONLINE ACCOUNT HOLDER INFORMATION:
In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an Entry, the Entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address, submitted at the time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Selected Entrants may be requested to provide GetConnected with proof that they are the authorized account holder of an e-mail address associated with the winning Entry.
