Kids Will Learn Through Play
About
After working 5 years in a regular daycare I decided to open my family child care in 2013 to serve families and their children but considering a personal and more private care based on children’s needs, their learning and development environment.
Also, I want to respond to a growing need of serving young children in a more appropriate care settings for toddlers and preschoolers rather than large group-care setting, imposed on day care centers.
My Philosophy
I believe that children's primary means of learning about our world is through play. When they play, children are imitating and practice what they have experienced.
As adults, we provide the examples they emulate. I have designed my program to provide a maximum of positive experiences, time to explore, and a variety of equipment to stimulate experimentation and consequently growth. This growth involves the whole child - emotionally, mentally, physically, socially, and intellectually.

I supplement the free play experience with directed activities appropriate to the developmental levels of the children so that the learning experience is positive.

At  Leamsy’s Nest,  the families and I work together to expand, to improve appropriate practice, interactions, and learning experiences that would prepare our children for positive, supportive relationships, cognitive development, and healthy emotional skills.

Toddler 1-2 years
PROGRAM GOALS: DEVELOPMENTAL
1. To promote emotional growth.

a. Build self-confidence and a sense of self-worth by allowing choices within limits and to build on successful experiences.

b. To promote a warm accepting environment for the children to work and play in.

c. To encourage curiosity and a sense of wonder with emphasis on self-motivation.
2. To promote social growth.

a. To promote and instill a sense of caring for, and sensibility towards others.
b. By recognition of group needs vs. individual differences.
3. To promote intellectual growth.

a. To instill a sense of curiosity.

b. To provide an atmosphere where children discover and explore – to teach independence through teaching how and where to find solutions.

c. To provide a wide variety of activities within a routine where cooperative play is encouraged. Curriculum areas of art, math, science, cooking, music and movement, large muscle, practical life, dramatic play, language arts and fine motor activities.
Through these activities, children are learning to be able to trust their own feelings about what they learn, hear, see and do and to begin sharing these experiences with others.
4. To promote physical / motor development.

a. For children to use their bodies in a variety of active ways by participating in fine and large motor activities both indoors and outdoors
Here is why choosing a home daycare will be a better decision.
As a parent, the single most important decision you consider is selecting childcare. It is finding that perfect fit with someone that you trust to care for your child the way you do.
