Cardiac ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) in Saskatchewan: An Implementation Effectiveness Study

Organization: SHA. Ethics approval granted by University of Saskatchewan.
 
Role overview: The Patient Partner will be asked to share their experience after going through cardiac ERAS. This includes giving their opinion of the overall process, how to better involve patients and how it can be improved from their perspective. In the future, Patient Partners will have the opportunity to co-present study results with the researcher at conferences.
 
Knowledge, experience, skills required: Patients have undergone cardiac surgery after October-November 2021 and have gone through cardiac ERAS protocols.

Time commitment: Flexible. Currently bi-monthly meetings. Data collection will extend until December 2023 followed by data analysis and presentation. 
 
Location: Saskatoon or Virtual via Zoom.
 
What you can expect from the research team: The research team will validate the Patient Partners' experience and make improvements from their suggestions. Researcher will communicate regularly via email.
 
Supports available to participate: Expense reimbursement.
