As a person who does does not use a wheelchair for mobility, yet still has disabilities, the wheelchair heart means you matter to me! I have many friends who do use mobility devices to get around - whether wheelchairs, scooters, or walkers - and I look at them as people that matter. Also, I see the heart as a symbol of sharing. Sharing that love comes in many ways and we are to love in all ways.
Finally, it is a symbol of Pride. And as a person with disabilities and an advocate for others, I will be proud to wear the heart on my chest and using my lapel pin when I cannot wear a T-shirt.
I am proud to say that We matter no matter what our abilities!
