Do you know why Robert Frost had no idea which road to travel? Well I do, because up until the last year of my life I was just as confused as dear old Bob. You can hardly blame him, there will always be an overwhelming amount of people trying to tell you what to do, what to wear, how to think, who to call your friends, but at the end of the day that is yours decision to make. When it all starts to feel too hard to bear and you just feel so alone remember you have yourself. You will always be your best friend. You know what makes you laugh, cry, and get so angry you want to yell at the world. When you're alone don't feel lonely, feel content. You have all that you need in that brilliant head of yours. All the compassion, love, patience, intelligence, and understanding is in that mass of pink matter in your head and in your heart. It is okay if no one understands you. Because YOU understand YOU. Don't be afraid to wander out into the open air and lie beneath a tree. Don't be afraid to belt that Taylor Swift or Eminem song at the top of your lungs. Don't be afraid to wander into a museum and get overwhelmed by the beauty. When things get rough, you have yourself. Get to know yourself and love yourself with no fear and shame. People love unique people. Never be afraid to be yourself, you have nothing to lose. Those who are worth your love and appreciation will drown you in affection and admiration. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it? It is, I know it because I lived it. And now when I sit alone in a coffee shop with my book, looking at the leaves I can be happy and at peace, because when I took the Road Less Traveled I was by myself and I did it for myself. I knew who I was meant to be and I lived it. With no fear or shame, just a heart full of love for the world around me and those who were willing to take it.
