As in all professional careers, I have noticed that things were rapidly changing in clinical research. As I am the person who completes all the clinical trial regulatory documents I noticed that many sponsors were beginning to ask if we had a certified clinical research staff member. As a nurse and a cardiovascular technician I had seen this trend before when many hiring facilities required you to maintain a certification in cardiovascular technician (RCVT) to be considered for the position. I decided to take the ACRP Certification test to stay ahead of the game. What I did not expect was that I was promoted to Clinical Research Manager at our facility. I can now proudly say "Yes" the question on the feasibility questionnaire when the ask "do you have a certified clinical research staff member at your facility". I feel that my promotion and the increase in clinical trials at my site were both based on my certification through ACRP. Thank you. Donna Taylor, CCRC
